For the past twenty-five years I have served in a wide variety of technical positions for companies in the Madison, WI area. My areas of greatest strengths are attention to detail, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, and a talent for bridging the gap between IT specialists and their business clients. Specialties: Endpoint management including: Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager administration, Group Policy administration, Active Directory administration, Okta SAML SSO and MFA administration, and using business analysis to effectively implement enterprise applications.
Served as lead implementation engineer on a project to transition the organization to the Okta platform for single sign (SSO) on and multifactor authentication (MFA) services. As part of an effort to reduce technical debt, improve security, and increase efficiency I am assisting in migrating staff accounts to a new Active Directory domain and M365 tenant. In working as part of a core team to upright the new UW-Shared Services organization I assisted in the design and implementation of their Information Technology infrastructure including: •Office 365 Tenant •Active Directory •Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM) •File, print, DNS, DHCP Worked with various project teams to migrate several organizations into UW-Shared services with particular focus on transitioning staff accounts, e-mail, and workstations into the UW-Shared Services infrastructure while minimizing impact on their ability to continue serving their customers.
As a systems architect I design and implement enterprise-wide technology solutions for the UW Extension and UW Colleges organizations with a focus on operational improvement and efficiency. Projects I am or have been involved with include: ● Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Current branch design and implementation. ● Enterprise-wide workstation OS upgrade to Windows 10. ● Workstation imaging process design and implementation. ● Domain group policy re-design and implementation. ● Active directory group management re-design and implementation. ● Microsoft Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) implementation.
As team lead in the client services department of Central Information Technology Services I manage all aspects of workstation administration and support for both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS devices. CITS provides technology services and support for all of UW Colleges and UW Extension faculty, staff, and students. Currently this includes management and support of over 5,500 Microsoft Windows and over 200 Apple workstations. My job duties include but are not limited to: ● Team lead for client services and workstation support. ● Administer Microsoft SCCM, Group Policy, Active Directory. ● Create and maintain Microsoft Windows desktop and laptop images. ● Create and deploy software packages through SCCM. ● Administer Microsoft Windows file and print servers. ● Administer BMC Footprints incident management software. ● Administer Lexmark ImageNow document retention software. ● Provide Tier 2 end user support as needed, both in person and using remote tools.
