As a Director of Sustainability & Supplier Management, I specialize in translating ambitious Sustainability Goals into actionable strategies across Eurasia & Middle East Operating Unit, including Turkey, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Pakistan. I lead the end-to-end technical sustainability agenda, orchestrating the design, collection, and partnering processes to reduce carbon footprints and close the packaging loop. I led the Quality & Food Safety agenda, driving operational excellence and compliance across manufacturing environments. I led the Environment, Health, and Safety agenda for the Corlu Plant, managing a team of 4 and reporting directly to the Plant Manager. My primary focus was establishing a "living EHS culture" through the successful deployment of the Global Environment, Health and Safety Management System (GEHSMS). Key Achievements: • System Integration: Successfully implemented the GEHSMS framework, achieving proven records in internal assessments and external audits (ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001). • KPI Improvement: Delivered significant improvements in Environmental KPIs (Water Usage, Energy Usage, Waste Recycle) and Safety metrics (LTI and LTIS rates) through best-in-class continuous improvement applications. • Stakeholder Management: Established sustainable, high-level communication with governing bodies like CEVKO, managing reporting and regulatory work groups. Core Responsibilities: • Strategic Planning: Developed and executed EHS Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and Action Plans to prevent workplace injuries and environmental incidents. • Risk & Crisis Management: Served as the Plant Coordinator for Business Continuity Planning and Management (BCPM) and led comprehensive risk assessments and root cause analyses (5-Why, 8-D). • Compliance & Auditing: Ensured full compliance with Occupational Safety laws and PepsiCo policies, leading the site preparation for regulatory and internal audits. • Cultural Transformation: Coached leadership and frontline teams to identify unsafe behaviors, ensuring effective corrective actions and driving a zero-harm mindset.
I managed a dual portfolio of Quality and EHS, ensuring compliance with Coca-Cola standards and legal regulations across three manufacturing plants. My quality responsibilities included managing lab teams, water treatment, and supplier feedback, resulting in improved audit scores. On the EHS side, I oversaw ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 systems, conducted risk assessments, and delivered employee training. I successfully authored the corporate environmental policy and achieved world-class EHS metrics and KPI growth within a complex, budget-restricted manufacturing environment.
