DWF is a leading global provider of integrated legal and business services. In my current role as Head of Claims, I am responsible for overseeing both the Italian and French teams. I report to the Global Head of Claims and manage a team of 12 individuals, with 10 team members based in Milan and 2 in Paris. My specialization spans various lines of business within the insurance industry, including professional indemnity, general liability, property, marine, healthcare, and commercial motor. DWF Claims has a worldwide presence with over 200 claims professionals located in the UK, Italy, Ireland, France, Canada, the USA, and Australia.
I am the Claims Director of the Italian office based in Milan.
In my role as Branch Manager, I was tasked with establishing and overseeing the new Spada Spa branch office in Milan. My responsibilities included developing the branch's business and fostering relationships within the insurance market, including both the Lloyd's and company markets. I was overseeing the entire claims management process, which involves receiving, documenting, and processing claims, whether from Insureds or third parties. I was also actively managing a portfolio of General Liability and Property claims.
Managed relationships with external vendors, such as law firms, loss adjusters, and other service providers; Managed and guided claims from initial advice to settlement; Conducted in-depth analysis of claims, assessing potential coverage and leading direct negotiations with insurers to determine quantum; Provided valuable assistance to clients in comprehending, negotiating, and presenting challenging claims to insurers; Evaluated claims renewals, conducted policy and wording reviews, and escalated complex or intricate claims when necessary; Specialized in various classes of business, including Marine & Transport, Financial Lines, and General Liability.
