Graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Eastern Piedmont in Novara, within the Greenlab led by Prof. Giovanni Battista Giovenzana. During my studies, I also served as a student representative, gaining experience in communicating with faculty members and fellow students. After completing my Master’s degree, I obtained my license to practice as a pharmacist. Since November 2023, I have been a PhD student in Drug Innovation, focusing on the synthesis, purification, and characterization of fluorescent molecules and compounds with photoacoustic activity.
I am currently undertaking a three-year PhD at the University of Piemonte Orientale, Italy, working as an organic chemist in a physical chemistry laboratory. My research project is focused on the development of cyanine dyes with fluorescent activity, as well as cyanine dyes with photoacoustic properties. My activities include the synthesis of these compounds, alongside comprehensive characterization using techniques such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, NMR, IR, and other relevant methods.
During my six-month research period at the University of Aveiro, funded by my doctoral fellowship, I will focus on the synthesis of functionalized porphyrins and cyanine dyes. The main goal of this study is to develop hybrid systems combining structural elements from both molecular classes. In addition to the synthetic work, I will carry out purification and comprehensive characterization of the obtained compounds using techniques such as UV-Vis, Fluorescence, and NMR spectroscopies.
During this period, funded by my PhD fellowship, I had the opportunity to explore the synthesis of cyanine dyes conjugates with photoacoustic properties as well as their characterisation.

Svolgimento del tirocinio curricolare obbligatorio (900 ore). Ambiente molto stimolante in cui mi sono interfacciato con i clienti al banco, ho appreso l’organizzazione della farmacia e del magazzino e mi sono dedicato alle preparazioni galeniche in laboratorio, comprese quelle a base di cannabis (estratti, capsule, cartine).
