After graduating in biological sciences, in 1987 he joined the Ecodeco Group, a leader in the sector of innovative technologies and environmental services (later incorporated into the A2A Group), as a researcher up to top roles in R&D and on the Board of Directors of operating companies, acquiring skills on technical-scientific aspects related to waste of urban and industrial origin. Creator of the first application of biodrying to the mechanical biological treatment (MBT) sector which will become a reference patent worldwide with dozens of plants serving landfills and WtE plants in northern Italy and the EU (England, Spain and Greece). Over the years he developed other patents and innovative technologies for composting, anaerobic digestion, CDR/CSS, syngas. Other managerial experiences followed in business development and strategic consultancy in the waste-to-energy sector with participation in Technical Committees and Boards of Directors of trade associations. For twenty years he has been running his own consulting and R&D company and for more than twenty years he has participated in the activities of the Italian Thermotechnical Committee, coordinating CT 284 "Biogas, biomethane, CO2 capture and syngas" for a decade. Since 2016 he has supported EY Italy as Waste Industry Advisor for the Transaction Advisory Services sector, participating in due diligence and the development of industrial plans for leading operators and investors in the sector. Since October 2023 he has held the role of Director of Strategies and Development of the Environment sector of Vomm Impianti e Processi S.p.A.
