• Responsible for the timely availability of Raw and Production Materials for can manufacturing at the right stocking level to support production and shipment of products On Time and In Full • Delivers a robust materials plan based on latest CSAR that is within the company’s guideline on supply cover and that supports company’s framework on working capital (DII) target and war-on-waste (Obsolescence) initiatives. • Works with buyers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of good quality raw materials such as tinplate, easy-open ends, copper wires and darex compound vs RDD/ETA to support manufacturing of tin cans. Monitors conformance to delivery commitment and provides timely feedback for any deviation to plan. • Ensure quick resolution of issues regarding new deliveries and on-floor materials including quality or material discrepancies to prevent them from affecting or delaying production and shipments. • Monitor inventory level of all can materials against DII plan and provide comprehensive analysis for any deviation. • Monitor ageing of all can materials in inventory and discuss with Production on recovery strategies of ageing materials. Take part in monthly material ageing and obsolescence review with Finance, QA and Production. • Actively follow through execution of agreed and approved move-out plans for ageing can materials through close coordination with Production, QA, Procurement (for scrap sales) and Finance. • Take part in meetings on the launch of new products in cans to ensure project timeline is supported with proper raw materials and set up new material if needed
• Prepare material plan for can manufacturing ensuring inventory is at the right stocking level, sufficient to support production plan and within the supply cover guideline. • Managed a team of 15 for inventory management of can materials using SAP ERP, supervising all transactions posted from raw materials receiving, finished product confirmation, material usages and finished product location transfer. Ensure book inventory accuracy by correct SAP transactions. • Oversaw warehouse activites from receipt of raw materials, warehousing of semi-finished products and transfer of finished products to end-user locations. Issue discrepancy reports for materials received with damage or quality defects. • Identify root cause of damages to materials during handling and warehousing, and coordinate damage claim to 3rd party service provider if necessary. • Took the lead in Can Plant annual physical count to complete count within target period, ensure accurate count results and identify source of inventory variance providing in-depth analysis and explanation on variance. • Led projects to improve and simplify SAP process of Can Plant. One is updated auto-backflush of raw materials during production confirmation and the other is simplification to 1 transaction instead of 3 transactions the finished cans and ends transfer from can plant sloc to end-users slocs. • Reduced ageing can materials inventory from Php 77.9 MM in Sept 2020 to Php 4.6 MM in May 2022 through consistent monitoring of all materials ageing profile and timely execution of recovery strategies in coordination with Production, QA and Finance. • Able to resolve past issue on ageing and damaged stocks caused by 3rd party service provider. Claimed from 3rd party forwarder and insurance provider a total of Php 3.8 MM cost of damaged and ageing coils. 1 damaged coil during unloading and 7 damaged coils during transport from 2014.
• Was assigned across different departments in Pineapple Cannery such as Solids Processing department, Flexible Packaging department (formerly GPSL - Glass, Plastic Cups, SUP Lines) and Can Plant supervising the packing of pineapple products inside tin cans, aseptic bags, plastic cups and stand up pouches (SUP), and the production of tin cans. • Implemented cost-saving initiatives to reduce production costs while maintaining high quality standards. In line with this, proposed a project, coil width reduction of 202 can size, that would result to cost savings in can manufacturing after gathering data and evaluating machinability. • Led people in the execution of operational plans to accomplish company targets in productivity and meet product demand by assessing equipment performance, reviewing material supply and organizing manpower ensuring optimum crew set up. Calculated at the start of shift the projected productivity and formulated strategies to attain target taking into account machine speed and material availability. • Evaluated existing processes in tin cans manufacturing and identified points for improvement. As a result, implemented mini projects that help reduced downtime and spoilage at the line such as adding air supply to machine to reduce cleaning downtime by 15 minutes, facilitated repair of trimming baskets to reduce downtime due to emptying of baskets and revised stacking pattern of tin cans to reduced incidence of damaged cans due to dropping. • Coordinated with other departments to maintain smooth and efficient product flow. Resolved concerns on can supply to its users and facilitated correction of runway issues that affect their tin can supply such as sharp edges that cause scratches on tin cans and derailed cables. Addressed also issues on quality of tin cans supplied to users.
