Al-Aqlah – Al-Ruwaik Desert Road Routine Maintenance project Location: Marib – Shabwah Governorates (Desert Link) – Yemen Overview: Managed routine and preventive maintenance operations for a 55 km strategic desert road connecting Marib and Shabwah, ensuring continuous road operability under harsh environmental and security conditions. Key Responsibilities & Achievements: · Directed routine desert road maintenance including grading, sand removal, embankment repairs and backfilling of damaged sections · Managed 75 personnel and supervised 25+ heavy equipment units (graders, dozers, loaders, compactors, water trucks) · Led continuous sand clearance operations after sandstorms to maintain safe and passable road conditions · Implemented site security measures and coordinated with local authorities and tribal leaders to ensure project continuity · Maintained uninterrupted road operability for 2.7 years despite extreme desert conditions
