About

En Hao's journey into technology began with a simple Scratch programming lesson, later expanding to C++ and other programming languages. His teachers at Hwa Chong Institution played a big role hence he believes in "paying it forward". To him, technology represents more than just code but a gateway to many opportunities. While fine-tuning AI models at BrainHack 2024, En Hao came across Meta's Hokkien Translator as a potential bridge to communicate with his grandmother, reinforcing his belief in AI's potential to transform lives when developed with empathy and purpose. While he sees technology as a powerful force for change, En Hao's heart lies in using it to solve real-world problems, particularly for those who might otherwise be left behind in our rapidly digitalising world. His vision for AI extends beyond innovation – he seeks to create solutions that address Singapore's unique needs, ensuring no one feels intimidated or left behind by technology. En Hao's commitment to social impact shines through his leadership of Project Tyros, a Service-Learning project organised initiatied by his seniors at Junior College. Together with his friends, they took it to the next step - transforming it from a basic mathematics tutoring programme into a comprehensive coding workshop for the Clementi Residents' Committee. The final session of the ten-lesson series, named "Project X", exemplifies his vision of making technology accessible to all. As an advisor at SG Youth AI, a youth-led organisation driven to empower people through AI, En Hao is passionate about demystifying AI for the public, challenging the common perception that it's an incomprehensible "magic box “. His goal is a future where technology unites rather than divides, and where innovation serves at the heart of human connection.
