Co-founded organisation and oversaw field research work in conflict and post-conflict zones to develop realistic, sustainable policy recommendations. • Hired Financial Director, Communications Director, policy analysts, and lobbyists; led organic, pragmatic growth to expand from 2 to 200 personnel. Articulate vision, strategies, and tactics for organisation's approaches and methodologies for 6 major programme areas; demonstrate links between people and policies. Identify and cultivate support relationships from major international donors and private funders. • Drove 5-fold increases in funding over 6 years. • Formed high-level relationships with government officials, ministers, parliamentary representatives, and members of academia; secured media coverage on CNN, BBC, and other outlets. Oversee projects in UAE, Jordan, Afghanistan, Brazil, Paraguay, and Colombia; guide development of ICOS in Afghanistan, Latin America, and Middle East. • Published landmark report, “The Return of the Taliban,” in 2006 to warn about deteriorating situation within Afghanistan. • Diversified Latin America portfolio to address violence against children (Brazil) and human security of young adults (Colombia). • Developed model in Rio de Janeiro to restore citizenship in underprivileged community; template was adopted by city officials for other communities.
Hold dual role in ICOS parent organisation and engage global philanthropic community to promote and implement projects which bring about social and political change. • Edited and published 27-chapter book, “Global Philanthropy”. • Developed dossier with leading London law firm to examine regulatory and tax issues affecting global philanthropy; provided dossier for European Foundation Centre. • Launched internationally recognized philanthropy prize, Raymond Georis Prize for Innovative Philanthropy. • Managed international advocacy campaign on policy reform for private donor, which realized 4-fold funding increase over 5 years. Co-Chair Rome Consensus of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent; coordinate 121 national societies to formulate and implement consistent public health strategies. • Founded London-based organisation to bring drugs and drug use to forefront of social concerns.
