• Bat Surveys: Dusk Emergence/Dawn Swarming/Back Tracking; Use of various bat detectors to I.D. species and record behavioural data (Personal bat detector: Echo Meter Touch 2 PRO); Static bat detector deployment and changeovers • Amphibian/Reptile Translocation: Pitfall trap, mat, and torch surveys; Great Crested Newt Surveys: Bottle-trapping, torching, egg search, Habitat Suitability Index, eDNA; Species and sex I.D. (Holds GCN Class License Level 1) • Badger disturbance work; Nesting bird counts • Ecological Clerk of Works (including railway); Fingertip & Destructive searches; Site maintenance • Currently working towards: GCN Class 2 License; Dormouse License; Bat License
• Intertidal bivalve (Toheroa, Cockle & Pipi) surveys along both the south coast of New Zealand’s South Island and the northern coasts of the North Island • Locate transects using GPS, mark waypoint and dig quadrats, sieve substrate, counting bivalves present, take measurements, record and enter data (Fixed term contracts 2017, 2018, 2019)
• 5-minute bird counts; Bird flight path surveys; Bat monitoring • GPS use; 4WD experience; Data entry (Fixed term contracts 2017, 2018)
• Small business and project management, advertising, networking, accounting • Garden clearance, landscaping, lawn-mowing, strimming, hedge-trimming, pruning and weeding
• Milk cattle in a 54 bail rotary shed on a 1000 cow dairy farm • Plant and silo operation and wash • Wrangle herds of cattle using an ATV, general farm work and maintenance, set-up break fences • Act to prevent and diagnose disease or injury in stock animals
