· Edit articles four nights a week across city, campus, arts and opinion desks covering Northwestern and Evanston news. · Report and write three to four articles weekly covering campus, city and breaking news for a community audience. · Communicate regularly with Editor-in-Chief to pitch, edit and fact-check stories for publishing. · Photograph speaker and sporting events using DSLR cameras and edit with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
· Fact check and proofread articles, obituaries and “Class Notes” for Northwestern's alumni magazine. · Pitch and research stories highlighting Northwestern students and alumni in entertainment, science, academia and tech. · Write front-of-book articles for print and digital publication.
• Oversee editing and production as second-in-command editor of quarterly, student-run print magazine. • Work closely with Print Managing Editor and section editors to pitch, select and develop story ideas. • Edit feature articles, providing developmental and line edits over an 8-week editorial process. • Report, write and fact-check stories highlighting Northwestern student life and campus culture.
• Lead communications, marketing and recruitment efforts for a sports club of over 130 members. • Create social media posts, enhance website design and coordinate alumni outreach.
• Develop and lead weekly weight training workouts for club members. • Work closely with co-coordinator and 15-person exec leadership board.
