Emma Olivé is from Barcelona. She attended Elisava, Design School of Barcelona and combined her studies while working for Gress, a local furniture shop and pioneer in catalan design. After achieving her degree, she participated in the Futurarium Workshop of conceptual art under the direction of Ron Arad, Gaetano Pesce and Sottsass Associati in Italy. In 1994 she was awarded a scholarship by the COPCA of the Generalitat de Catalunya and moved to New York City to join the design team of the italian firm Vignelli Associates. Two years later she joined the Home Collection Design team at Polo Ralph Lauren, where her responsabilities included creating new “lifestyle” home and furniture designs. She also worked on a variety of projects for the ceramic artist Eva Zeisel. In 1999 she returned to Barcleona to work for Acero / Media Planning as an architecture designer for special events for Javier Escobar. While at Acero, she also won the tender for Turgalicia, the promotion of Galicia turism in Barcelona and Madrid. Between 2000-2002 she studied a Master of Interior Design at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya as well as Arts at Eina School of Art. Afterwards she participated in several art exhibitions: in La Santa Gallery she presented the Relíquia de Acción installation and in Hartmann Gallery she exhibited various portraits. She was selected for the exhibition Art Emergent of Fira de Barcelona, with her work Mental circumstances published in La Vanguardia newspaper among others. In 2004 she opens her own studio called trazobcn, which was recalled emmaolivéstudio in 2008. Many multidisciplinary projects are developed by this firm: interior design, furniture, industrial design and events. emmaolivestudiobcn is a professional design studio located in the artistic city of Barcelona in Spain. We design events, interiors for comercial spaces and private residents.
