    • Gained exposure to the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and its subspecialties (Pediatrics, Hand Surgery, Oncology) at the Montefiore Children's Hospital through observing procedures such as hip reconstruction, scoliosis correction, and polydactyly repair • Scrubbed in to assist surgical teams during procedures including distal femur osteochondroma removal and percutaneous screw fixation, providing exposure by holding wounds open with instruments • Assisted the Sarcoma & Soft Tissue Oncology team with wound debridement of deep margins • Gained hands-on experience with the key steps of biopsy analysis, including freezing, slicing, staining, and microscopic visualization • Enhanced understanding of the psychosocial aspects of medicine by observing varied patient interaction approaches across Orthopaedic subspecialties
