Support GI Lab operations by preparing and organizing patient records for colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and timely chart delivery. Communicate with patients and families during check-in and discharge, gather medical information, apply ID bands, and guide families to recovery areas. Collaborate with nurses and physicians to track patient status, assemble procedure-specific charts with required forms, and manage confidential records through secure handling and label disposal. Contribute to efficient patient flow and care coordination in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Coordinate the transport of patient-specific IV medications to the infusion center, playing a key role in maintaining treatment efficiency and supporting uninterrupted clinical care. Observe physician-patient interactions and assist with neurology-focused workflows, gaining insight into specialized care for conditions like MS, ALS, and myasthenia gravis. Receive mentorship from the operations coordinator on infusion therapies and the clinical application of advanced treatments such as Ocrevus, Briumvi, Leqembi, and Tysabri. Support patients during infusions, providing compassionate care while deepening understanding of neurological treatment plans.
Contribute to the ongoing research conducted by Karen Ridge Lab that focuses on mechanisms that drive repair and recovery from severe viral pneumonia. Continued my hypothesis-driven research project from the Kimberly Querrey Summer Research Program through independent study in promoting repair during juvenile respiratory infections.
Assist medical faculty in attending to patients' comfort and needs, transport patients from the Community Health Center to the main hospital facility
