Hello! My name is Emma Koenig, and I thrive on teamwork, organization, and creativity. I am a lifelong learner, and am always looking for new ways to develop myself as a young professional. I have experience in media relations, event planning and logistics, social media marketing, media relations and digital design. I hold a Bachelors degree in Public Relations with minors in Communication and Spanish from Carthage College. I also coach a dance team at Crystal Lake South High School!

I currently serve as the Media Relations & Events Coordinator for both the United Community Center and Latino Arts, Inc. I am the liaison between all media for the agency, and work to coordinate interviews, tours, and segments for news television, printed and virtual magazines, podcasts, and arts segments.
I was the Captain Coordinator Sales Associate (CCSA) at the Nothshore location of Wedgewood Weddings. As the CCSA I worked directly with the Sales Director with handling all client accounts. I was present for all aspects of the wedding planning process, from initial tour to wedding day. I met with clients and ran meetings for planning and payment. I worked closely with the banquet staff at Wedgewood and all of the couples. I also ran the social media accounts for the Northshore locations.
My Senior year I worked as one of two Marketing Interns for Carthage Dining (Sodexo). As the intern I created a content calendar for all the Carthage Dining social media accounts. I was a content creator for their marketing including digital and print material. I also coordinated with the Chef and my supervisors for large dining events.
As a Senior Resident Assistant (SRA) I lead and develop 10 RA's, who serve as Resident Assistants to their 40 residents. I am also the only SRA for a whole building (350 students). I was hired as a Junior, when this position is typically meant for seniors at Carthage College, and I continue to hold this position into my second year. I serve as a leader and example for the RA's at Carthage, I manage Room Condition Reports, I professionally develop my RA's through my 12 programs, I advise RA programming, and I work with the Area Coordinator to control residential happenings on campus.
As a Resident Assistant (RA) I originally worked as one of four Freshman RA's and continued through my Sophomore year, when I was hied as a Senior Resident Assistant for my Junior/Senior years. Being an RA, I served roughly 40 residents, put on 18 different programs, created a safe living environment, served as a role model, and built community for new and returning students!
I was the Summer Intern at Lifezone 360 as their Public Relations Specialist. I gained valuable experience with social media, which is a very important aspect of Public Relations. I kept the public informed of Lifezone 360 events. I was assigned with the task of creating a campaign to increase awareness of the LZ360 Sports Academy. I made posts on Facebook and Instagram, kept in contact with staff and coaches, and most importantly I was the content creator tasked with gaining new followers and likes on all of the company pages.
