Emma graduated from the University of East Anglia with a 2:1 degree in International Development with Social Anthropology and Politics. After always having an interest in Sub-Saharan Africa, she chose to study this region closely during her time at university, picking appropriate modules and reading around the subject in some depth. She is interested in sustainable and ethical development work overseas, as well as having a keen interest and experience in the tourism industry. Emma worked at the Tongabezi Trust School between 2016 - 2021 as the Fundraising and Administration Manager. Her work involved donor relations, management of non academic school activities, marketing and social media, events management. Emma joined On Call Africa as their Partnerships and Fundraising Manager in 2021 and in 2024 moved to a new role as Head of Impact and Communications. On Call Africa works in the Southern Province of Zambia to strengthening rural health systems through working directly with the Ministry of Health and partners. Emma worked to raise funds for projects and joint partnership funding and focused both on grant writing and individual funding, as well as monitoring and sharing the impact of the work of OCA. Emma recently joined Zambian Carnivore Programme as Grants and Fundraising Manager. An exciting position for Emma and a great opportunity to gain experience working in the field of conservation. Emma is highly organised, has excellent communication skills and strives for high quality in the work she does. She is enthusiastic, empathetic and fair and is self motivated.
