I am a fourth-year Fire Protection Engineering student at the University of Maryland, College Park. My dedication to this field stems from its vital role in improving safety and protecting lives. I am fascinated by the wide-ranging applications of FPE and I am most interested in system design and life safety. My goal is to contribute innovative solutions to fire safety challenges, helping create safer communities and environments! Outside of school, my greatest passions are art and music.
- Assist engineering students with resume, LinkedIn, and Handshake profile reviews - Support students throughout the job search process by providing career resources and guidance
- Utilized Autodesk Revit to support fire sprinkler system design by adding pipe tags, section views, dimensions, and system labels to building floor plans, ensuring clear construction drawings - Modeled 10+ revised sprinkler locations and resolved 30+ piping disconnects in CAD to coordinate with electrical and mechanical trades and maintain compliant sprinkler coverage throughout a new data center - Developed a preaction sprinkler system in/out matrix template to document signal inputs and system responses
- Conducted independent egress research through the Clark School Research Immersion Program under the mentorship of Professor Bill Koffel - Investigated the impact of intermediate handrails on stairwell egress as occupant body size increases - Created a literature review on egress behavior and body size to inform project methodology - Modeled 30+ stairwell egress scenarios in Pathfinder to identify the optimal design approach
- Drafted placement of fire alarm devices and conduit, assisted in riser diagram development, and performed voltage drop and conduit sizing calculations in Excel, supporting the accurate design of fire alarm and passive fire protection systems for electrical substations - Applied NFPA 72 to calculate optimal smoke and heat detector spacing, validating full coverage and ensuring regulatory compliance - Developed CAD drawings from hand-drawn substation schematics using MicroStation and AutoCAD for fire protection system layouts - Surveyed existing substation sites to align the design with field conditions and identify potential issues
- Enthusiastically assisted 50+ customers daily with transactions, directions, and complaints - Picked and delivered 10+ punctual orders of around 25 grocery items daily, utilizing online software to maintain efficiency and accuracy - Handled 15+ phone calls and emails per day - Seasonal, worked summer 2022 and summer 2024
