Working in a school setting with children with additional educational needs. Being part of a team to support children who need extra support in school. Learning how best to support certain children. Gaining experience of being in a classroom and teaching technique
Volunteering at IWM London during their opening of the centenary period focusing on WW1. • Interacting with historical sources and helping engage the public with them • Offering advice and direction to members of the public • Contributing to how a museum functions and the ways improvements in accessibility have to be made to benefit the customer • Learning how new exhibitions are designed and how this is of advantage to both the museum and the public
Working through the holidays with 4-11 year olds, leading group activities. This involved activities such as nature walks, cinema trips and crafts. This developed my understanding on how to look after children in a safe environment and how best to communicate with them.
Providing prospective students with an experience of University life through guides tours and talks. This involved giving future students and insight into the University, conversing both with them and their parents.
Working to keep the shop floor tidy to make it a pleasant experience for all customers. This involved working as part of a team to complete work as efficiently as possible. This built on my skills as working as a team and also developed my confidence for talking to new people.
