Hi I am Emily Stibley, a Senior at Ohio University studying Finance, Accounting, and Business Analytics. I'm involved in Ohio University Student Equity Management Group where I hold the position of a Portfolio Manager where I collaborate with four other executive board members to manage OUSEMG's ~$11M portfolio. I also serve as the Head of Communications within the Association of Women in Finance. Lastly, I am a member of Ohio Women in Business. I am able to dive deeper into the finance field through these organizations, growing my skills, knowledge, and professional development. Ohio University Student Equity and Management Group is an organization at Ohio University that manages an equity portfolio of $11 million for Ohio University's Endowment Fund. As a Portfolio Manager within the organization, I am able to lead the group along with four other executive board members. We collectively make buy, sell, or hold decisions on securities that have been pitched from one of our five pitch teams. I use platforms such as Excel, FactSet, Bloomberg, Reuters, etc., to complete in-depth research on securities and the overall economy.
Ohio University Student Equity and Management Group is an organization at Ohio University that manages an equity portfolio of $11 million for Ohio University's Endowment Fund. As a Head Analyst within the organization, I am able to lead a pitch team and recommend buy, sell, or hold proposals. I form these proposals by doing research on securities using Bloomberg Terminals, FactSet, and Reuters. I also use skills including excel, presentation, and teamwork.
I assist students with their homework and test preparation by explaining key concepts in specific classes that I excelled in. These include Calculus, Accounting, Business Analytics, and Business Communication. I formulate practice problems and examples that allow the student to further understand the class material.
As a Commercial Banking Intern at PNC, I gained exposure to a wide range of industries by attending over 15 client meetings, where I learned about credit structures, lending terms, and risk considerations. I supported acquisition financing and estate buyout transactions through two intern projects, presenting analyses for companies with annual revenues of $275M and $45M. I also collaborated with underwriting, credit, and sales teams to analyze financial data, perform credit analysis, and conduct due diligence for more than 20 clients, strengthening my technical and client-facing skills in commercial banking.
As an Intern Analyst for Senior Living & Healthcare, I was in a team with 8 other colleagues. I contributed to the team by preparing quarterly fund reports and updating financials with analysis behind it for 200+ assets. I was able to go through the underwriting process, financial modeling, and evaluating credit worthiness. I was able to grow my overall asset management skills, as well as gain a deeper dive on the Healthcare Industry.
