I am a Master’s candidate of Classical Archaeology at Oxford University, with the aim of pursuing a career in museums, galleries, or the heritage sector. I am currently studying the Classical Period, having just completed a module in Greek Vases, where I work closely with the Beazley Archive. Before Greek Vases, I worked closely with the Ashmolean’s coin collection whilst reading Greek Coinage, in the Heberden Coin Room, where I continue to volunteer for the DigiClass digitisation project. My undergraduate studies have deepened my passion for classical art and archaeology, particularly Greek art, which I’ve explored through independent research. This dedication led to a bursary-funded placement in the Department of Greece and Rome at the British Museum. I’m also committed to public engagement and accessibility in the arts, developed through extensive volunteer experience. A museum-focused career would allow me to combine my academic interests with my enthusiasm for outreach. Additionally, I have a strong interest in provenance research and cultural heritage dispute resolution. My undergraduate dissertation focused on the Parthenon Marbles, critically examining their history, legal status, and ongoing debates, and engaging with both historical and contemporary scholarship. Undertaking a Micro-Internship in March 2026 with the Institute for Historical Justice and Reconciliation’s Contested Histories Project allowed me further opportunity to develop skills within this sector.
Cataloguing a collection of South Sudanese objects (collected by Patti Langton) using Museum Plus. Undertaking object handling training in a conservation context, including Integrated Pest Management, hazardous materials (poisons and pesticides), and associated health and safety procedures Working alongside textile conservators for a short placement, gaining exposure to conservation techniques and materials handling for textile objects Facilitating external study visits, moving objects between storage and display areas for handling and research by source communities and academic researchers Assisting with the Court decant project, moving objects from display, packing, and preparing them for transfer to offsite storage.
Creating a mapping rubric for a case study on the renaming of Dakar’s streets from French colonial to Senegalese figures. Integrating reviewers’ comments into a case study on the former US embassy in Iran, now the Museum of Anti-Arrogance. Writing a case study for the Pitt Rivers Museum and its legacy/ongoing practice in treating and housing contested heritage.
Assisting in the design and delivery of resources to help UG students learn ancient languages more effectively and confidently. Collaborating on the planning and production of a workshop which will be delivered to students taking a Beginners’ language at the start of the 2025/26 academic year, and a KEATS resource page which will be available to all students taking ancient language modules.
