I am a hardworking and creative individual who enjoys a good challenge! I love to learn new things, meet new people, and work with my hands! I grew up in Montana, where both of my parents served in the military. They instilled in me strong ethics, values, and morals that are the driving force behind me to this day. In my free time I enjoy hiking, fishing, shooting competitively, hunting, and lifting weights. Some of my more creative hobbies include quilting and sewing. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology on May 10, 2014. While at the SDSM&T I was an extremely active member of the Baja SAE team. The SDSM&T Baja team builds a single passenger dune buggy from scratch, run by a 10hp Briggs & Stratton engine, each year to compete in an international competition held in the US. My five years on this team allowed me to practice and become proficient with SolidWorks, Abaqus FEA software, GD&T, and Microsoft programs. Active participation is a full time job due to the time requirements, however, the technical experience and personal development I underwent makes it well worth it. As a senior member on the team I took part in designing and developing an E-CVT (Electronically controlled continuously variable transmission) as highlighted and described in the Projects section of my LinkedIn profile. My senior design team spent an entire year developing this system. . I headed up the mechanical component design for the E-CVT, and built the system from scratch. Doing this I furthered my skills and experience with SolidWorks, Abaqus, and GD&T standards.
