Consultant and advisor on public affairs matters to USACE Antilles team in coordination with Jacksonville District. Responsible for plannning, executing and coordinating local media, public information, command information and all community relations programs in PR and the USVI in support of the USACE communications plan. Keep media and publics informed and aware of Corps activities. Work with representatives of PR and USVI governments and other federal agencies on activities related to Corps programs, projects and areas of mutual interest. Provide public affairs counsel and suport to project managers and project delivery teams to develop and implement communications plans. Take lead and/or assists in organizing special events such as public meetings, site visits, groundbreaking, dedication ceremonies, media engagements and VIP visits. Write news releases, stories, feature articles, fact sheets, etc to inform the public about Corps missions. Support and participate in projects, events and special missions with Corps team members from other Districts and Headquarters.
