United Kingdom
In August 2025 I began running an Instagram page dedicated to all things history, @ellietalkstudors. On this page, I share glimpses of my historic visits across the UK and beyond, historical anniversaries and insights into my favourite artefacts.
For the 2024/25 academic year, I am acting as the JCR Archivist for my college at university. This role consists of the running of an instagram account, @castle.jcrarchives and making weekly posts as well as arranging events. So far, with the college chaplaincy, I have arranged a tour of Durham Cathedral for February 2025.
Since July 2023, I have been a writer for the online blog ‘The Ill-Fated Wives of Henry VIII’ alongside a group of like-minded female history lovers. My articles have covered a range of topics, from Hans Holbein the Younger to Jane Seymour’s parents.
In November 2022, I was given the opportunity by my school to partake in Lessons From Auschwitz, a project by the Holocaust Educational Trust that seeks to educate young people about the Holocaust. After visiting Auschwitz with other schools in the north east, I worked on a project to present to my school concerning what I had learnt for Holocaust Memorial Day. From this, I became an ambassador for the trust, and won my school’s accolade for my work at the end of my time there.
Since 2021, I have written various articles for The Historians Magazine, my first one being an account of the Battle of Bosworth Field after I completed my GCSEs. Since then, I have written on various topics in a number of periods, spanning from the consumption of eels in medieval England to the career of Sir Jackie Stewart. I have also occasionally assisted in helping select articles for upcoming editions. The Historians Magazine has not only allowed me to publish my own work, but also allowed me to meet some brilliant likeminded historians.
