Ellie McCurdy

Manager, Strategic Initiatives at WMATA

Washington DC-Baltimore Area

About

Ellie has 10 years of experience in transportation planning and policy, communications, and business development in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. As a Strategic Initiatives Manager at Metro, Ellie manages complex, interdepartmental projects on behalf of the COO and Operations senior leadership. These projects include development and implementation of executive priorities, management communications and consensus building, and time-sensitive executive staffing to the COO. As a consultant to transportation agencies and local, state, and federal governments, she balanced competing responsibilities on concurrent projects for transit-oriented development, station area planning, transit and rail facilities, bicycle and pedestrian access, environmental analysis, stakeholder coordination, and public engagement. While working in local government, Ellie developed and implemented strategies to promote non-single-occupant vehicle transportation options and supported the city’s transit, paratransit, and micromobility programs. She is also a Board Member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) DC Chapter, actively bringing together transportation professionals throughout the region for professional development and networking opportunities.
