In September 2025 I started the MSc programme in Accounting and Finance at Manchester Metropolitan University. I will be building transferable expertise in financial reporting, management accounting, corporate finance, and global financial strategy. This course marks a huge step in my transition into the finance industry, and will equip me with the skills needed to thrive in fast-paced roles. Following my MSc, I plan to pursue a professional finance qualification, such as the ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, as part of my long-term commitment to becoming a highly skilled finance professional. I’m excited to begin a career where I can take on early responsibility, grow quickly, and make a meaningful contribution in a driven environment. I will be studying a total of 180 credits from a range of modules, including "Corporate Finance", "Governance, Risk and Forensic Accounting", "International Corporate Reporting", and an extended research proposal/dissertation. This MSc programme is also accredited by AACSB and EQUIS, meaning my degree is internationally recognised for meeting global standards of excellence in business and management education. The transition from a BA degree to a MSc in Accounting and Finance shows my commitment to entering the corporate world of finance, alongside my determination and strong work ethic to achieve my goals. I also bring with me a First-Class degree in History from Leeds Beckett University, where I developed a strong foundation in critical thinking, independent research, and structured communication. My dissertation, which received the Matthew Caygill Prize for outstanding achievement, taught me how to manage complex information and work under pressure, all skills I’m eager to apply in a financial setting. I’m naturally analytical, ambitious, and curious about the forces that drive businesses and economies. I’m particularly interested in how financial decisions intersect with wider political and historical contexts. My goal is to join a forward-thinking organisation where I can continue learning, progress professionally, and make a real impact.
