Hi! My name is Ella North and I am a senior at Ohio University studying Marketing and Management Information Systems (MIS) through the College of Business. I am on track to graduate in the spring of 2027 with my Bachelor’s Degree and Sales Certificate. I stay active on campus being a part of the Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre and Secretary of the Phi Chi Theta business fraternity. These business organizations have given me numerous opportunities to grow personally and professionally. Returning to Hyland as a Sales Intern, I gained hands-on experience supporting high-level initiatives, working across teams, and preparing executive-facing materials. This role allowed me to continue building valuable skills that will support my growth in future business roles.
In this role, I gained exposure to and provided support for several key teams including Sales Support, Solution Architect, Sales Operations, Sales Academy, and Customer Reference. I assisted Account Managers in achieving and surpassing their revenue targets by contributing to a variety of sales-related projects. Additionally, I participated in team meetings and had the opportunity to observe customer calls, offering valuable insights into the sales process and client engagement strategies.
Working at this store throughout the summer, I provided customer service by assisting customers with orders and inquiries. I also prepared and packaged deli products while assuring adherence to food safety standards. Maintaining a clean and healthy workplace was a daily task while working in the deli, as well as providing customer satisfaction by doing things such as making custom orders or providing customers with the items they requested.
In this role, I worked with a team to accommodate club members' needs which involved supplying gas, delivering food and beverages, cleaning and maintaining dock space, docking boats, and a variety of other tasks. I performed these duties while also ensuring a clean and safe space for patrons by cleaning up the island daily. I supported family and club activities by setting up numerous parties and events.
While working for the Phyfer family, I helped take care of two young girls as well as their dog, cats, and home. During my time at the house, I helped handle household needs such as laundry, dishes, meals, and general upkeep. I also made sure the girls were keeping up with their summer work and other household chores. Throughout my time I also provided the children with transportation to and from practices, events, and social outings.
