Solo travelled Australia and South East Asia for 10 months, stopping in Perth, WA to work and live for 4 months.
Working Holiday placement for 2 months in WA, based at a global shipbuilding company. Responsible for processing the weekly payroll, working with a 3rd party payroll provider to pay 4 subsidiary companies based across 3 states. Cross checked employees monthly salaries, ensuring this was reflective of their timesheets and were approved by managers. Identified anomalies and mistakes in pay, investigating them and correcting them to ensure employees were paid correctly. Onboarded new staff onto the payroll system weekly. Completed construction industry safety training and earned a White Card, enabling me to work in construction environments.
Coordinated interviews, advertised jobs and handled the administration of the recruitment process. Carried out the administration of the employee lifecycle, including on-boarding and leaving processes and new employee inductions. Booked and organised staff training. Monitored, logged and reviewed staff probations, as well as performance development reviews, ensuring all documentation is up to date and flagging any concerns. Organised staff well-being days, including annual mental health awareness week activities.
2 year apprenticeship, finishing with a level 3 qualification in HR Support.
