I am a Chemical Engineering rising senior with a minor in Fire Protection Engineering at WPI who is passionate about blending my technical engineering knowledge with creative problem-solving. I aim to contribute to impactful projects in the chemical engineering field. I am eager to apply my skills and make a difference in the pharmaceutical industry.
Bailey-Hytholt Research Laboratory, Mentored by Professor Christina Bailey-Hytholt -Maintain mammalian cell lines and evaluate trophoblast behavior under various growth conditions to assess effects on placental trophoblast invasiveness for potential women’s health therapeutics. -Transfect placental trophoblast cells with mRNA-loaded lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). -Assess transfection efficiency via luciferase expression and GFP fluorescence.
-Selected through a highly competitive process to participate in AbbVie’s prestigious ExCEL Externship Program. -Engaged in a two-day immersive program at AbbVie’s HQ in Illinois, gaining exposure to the Operations business area, participating in a cross-functional case competition with 53 extern peers, and deepening my understanding of the company’s mission and culture. -Built a network by interacting with over 50 professionals and leaders across 4 departments, participating in professional development webinars and on-site networking sessions with AbbVie Employes and Employee Resource Groups.
