São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil
As a multicultural person, born in France but raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by my Japanese family, I have always been concerned about how I am understood: by different countries, societies, cultures but specially human beings. Portuguese, French, English and Spanish were not the complete communication tools I thought I needed to communicate and express myself around the world. That's why I fell in love with the power of the image when I started studying Art History, but also Literature and Humanities, at the preparatory school for higher education named "Lycée St Sernin" in the city of Toulouse. Because of my ease and ability to live and believe that there are no borders for communication and cultural connections, I returned to Brazil in 2023, to São Paulo, to complete my degree in film & radio and television production, at Anhembi Morrumbi University. It was then that I had my first professional experience in the raw world of photography, working on photo shoots for important fashion shows. A journalist saw potential in me and asked me if he could publish my photos in his magazine. That kind of recognition motivated me so much that I never stopped pursuing what photography most likes to communicate: "optics". Since that day, images have become a new language for me. An artistic, political and social language that enhances words or, in many cases, even surpasses them. So I naturally migrated from photography to video when I became a camera operator for news programs on the Globo television station. All of this has led me to this day, as an image editor, where I work my best to bring sensitivity to the news in choosing and treating the right image. In addition, I would say that I am very interested in becoming a reporter, so I intend to pursue a master's degree in political and economic journalism.
