Propulsion Plant Watch Officer: - Projected for over 1000 hours post deployment, in charge of reactor plant operations for all evolutions, casualty control, maintenance, safety and electrical tags, chemistry and radiological control of an A1B reactor. As a Division Officer: - Leads 27 sailors and manages maintenance for all electrical components in one of two nuclear propulsion plants to include planning, briefing, and executing multi-million dollar plant projects through rigorous nuclear inspections and ship movements to include major switchboard takedowns and reactor testing. -Heads group sessions through nuclear incidents, conducting root cause analysis and process remediation.
Navy Nuclear Power Training Program -Completed six month academic naval nuclear propulsion program focusing on reactor dynamics, plant systems, thermodynamics, electrical engineering, chemistry, radiation, and materials. -Six months of on the job training at Moored Training Ship (MTS) managing and executing reactor operations, casualty control, and watch team cohesion.
Served as an Officer of the Deck, designated by the Commanding Officer to be in charge of all ship safety, proper operation and the daily schedule. -Obtaining 354 underway hours, including UNITAS 2022, four Sea and Anchor details, eight live fire exercises, and two anchorages keeping the ship safe in a multitude of dynamic environments. Food Service Division Officer - Specially chosen to fill a significant leadership gap in the Food Service Division. Led 23 sailors in support of daily food production operations and maintenance for a crew of 350 personnel. - Facilitated multiple Distinguished Visit receptions for over 300 personnel on board, including luncheons and receptions for the Secretary of the Navy, US Fleet Forces, 4th Fleet, the mayor of New Orleans, and multiple DESRON guests and their staff during Fleet Forces tasking. Key Management Infrastructure Manager Responsible for all ship’s keys, codes, and classified documents to include core audits and monthly destructions.
6 week internship designing programs to better analyze nuclear weapon capabilities and the manufacturing process.
