Under Dr. Caitlin S Latimer at the UW BRaIN Lab, my work has been focused on 1) generating digital neuropathology using HALO software by Indica Labs, 2) comparing the different tau epitope pathology to TDP-43 pathology in the human hippocampus region (UW research symposium poster session), 3) protein extractions from brain tissue, 4) BCA total protein assays and Luminex Multiplex immunoassays for Abeta and Tau pathology, 5) learning different immunoassays.

  • Undergraduate Research Assistant | Wang Lab at University of Washington Department of Biology
    Jun 2024 - Jun 2026 · 2 yrs 1 mo

Guided by Dr. Yan Z Wang, I have been working on different aspects of neuroscience research. The Wang lab at UW studies the “death spiral”, which is a senescent phase in Octopus bimaculoides through molecular/cellular and behavioral neuroscience to uncover the aging pathways in the vestibular system. My work has been mainly 1) octopus husbandry, 2) slicing and mounting brain slides that had been embedded in a paraffin block, 3) designing behavioral assays, 4) analyzing behavioral assays using BORIS, SLEAP, and Python, 5) making solutions and autoclaving lab equipments.
