For over 30 years, I’ve been connecting people to amazing places – from UNESCO World Heritage, Lake District National Park, Heritage Trusts, Holker Hall & Gardens, the amazing Windermere Jetty Museum, Blackwell the Arts & Crafts House, and the for-runner of heritage attractions Wigan Pier, and most recently, the opening of Showtown, The Museum of Fun and entertainment in Blackpool, where we re-imagined how a museum could interact with audiences in this quirky and unique world renowned seaside resort. As Chief Executive of two Heritage & Museum Trusts, Chief Operating Operating Officer for Lakeland Arts, Head of Commercial Services for the Lake District National Park Authority, and General Manager for several leading visitor attractions there isn’t much I haven’t had to embrace. I've also held / hold a number of NED and Advisory roles including for the National Trust (North), Thackray Museum of Medicine, Cumbria Tourism and Lancashire Business Board. And now I’m thrilled to have taken the leap and join the highly skilled partnership at Counterculture where I can help other cultural trusts, organisations, museums and historic houses and estates thrive. • Led the team at Blackpool Heritage and Museum Trust to launch Showtown, a museum showcasing the unique stories of talent and artists in Blackpool. • Collaborated with the team to create an engaging and interactive experience for visitors, opening in March 2024. • Developed strategies to attract and retain top talent to bring the vision of Showtown to life.
