I am the Managing Partner of Major, Lindsey & Africa's Philadelphia office and a member of our In-House and Board Services Practice Groups. Using my knowledge of the legal industry, extensive experience as a practicing attorney and network of contacts, I place attorneys at all levels within public and private, non-profit and academic legal and compliance departments across the country. I also help clients develop high performing boards of directors. I have worked with clients in a wide range of industries, most notably financial services, pharmaceutical, medical device, manufacturing, retail, consumer, higher ed and non-profit. Recruited as an Associate by a partner at my former firm to join this nationwide organization. Promoted to Counsel in 2008. Commercial litigator, specializing in litigation of disputes for and counseling of clients regarding employment and post-employment issues, primarily involving the enforcement and defense of employment agreements, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, business torts and unfair competition, in a wide variety of industries. Member of the Recruiting, Diversity and Women’s Business Development Committees.
Handled all aspects of breach of contract, business tort, trade secret, check fraud, bankruptcy, FCRA and FDCPA matters. Second chaired/prepared preliminary injunction hearings in Philadelphia Commerce Court.
Handled all aspects of commercial litigation matters for a 50-person, high-end insurance defense firm. Practice areas included breach of contract disputes, insurance bad faith, and insurance provider fraud/civil RICO cases. Prosecuted and defended personal injury cases. Conducted depositions and arbitrations.
Researched and wrote opinions and bench memoranda. Researched and reviewed all civil motions assigned to the Judge and drafted memoranda regarding how the Court should rule.
