About

Urology Consultant NHS Ayrshire and Arran with a specialist interest in Prostate and Bladder Cancer. Passionate about quality improvement and clinical research, whether big or small, to get the best outcomes for our patients and services. Background I undertook a PhD on the MBPhD programme at Cambridge University in cancer genetics and then continued my medical and then urological training in the West of Scotland where project work focused on regional quality improvement in multi-disciplinary team meetings and reducing variation in cancer pathways. Subsequently I worked with the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland as a Clinical Leadership fellow. I was involved in horizon scanning to prepare NHS services for the expansion of precision medicine and also the development of robotic assisted surgery nationally. I then moved to University College London Hospital where I developed my specialist interests and trained in robotic surgery before taking up my consultant position in the West of Scotland. Outside of work I will usually be found outdoors - walking dogs, swimming and gardening.
