Incoming Fifth-Year Medical Student at The University of Exeter. Passionate about Widening Participation, Medical Education, and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
I am in charge of Mentorship delivery and strategy for 2025/26 for widening participation charity In2MedSchool.
My role as National Team Lead for the South West involved the coordination of Regional Heads for Bristol, Exeter, Oxford, Plymouth and Southampton universities, and working with the wider mentorship team.
I represented the University of Exeter as Regional Head. - I established connections to schools in Exeter and surrounding areas to recruit Year 12/13 students. - I recruited medical students at my university to become mentors. - I was responsible for matching and monitoring mentorship pairs. - I ran an in-person mentor recruitment event.
Supported residential students aged 15 to 18 under the Young Doctor’s Programme.
Representing the student voice. Termly participation in Student-Staff Liasion Committee meetings.
I worked with the Surgical Society committee to provide students with insight into surgical specialities, and facilitated surgical skills workshops and speaker events.
I co-lead and co-founded the BMBS Year 1 Peer Mentoring Programme, a faculty-supported scheme using a near-peer mentoring model. Our mission is to streamline the transition from sixth form to Year 1 and help students to feel prepared for their assessments.
