Elinor is a bilingual Associate Lawyer (fluent in English and Welsh and proficient in French) specialising in intellectual property law at Simmons & Simmons. Elinor qualified in August 2021 and has experience of advising on contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters (including trade marks, designs and copyright) as well as advertising law matters (such as prize promotions and marketing claims) and a variety of commercial matters relating to the Media, Sport and Entertainment sector (including licensing, sponsorship, talent and supplier agreements). Elinor is also well-placed to support in-house counsel having been seconded to both Unilever and the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Elinor has a particular interest in the Media, Sport and Entertainment sector. Elinor was recognised by Legal 500 as a key lawyer in the category of Media: Video Games in March 2025 and is a core member of the Gaming and Immersive Technologies group at Simmons & Simmons. Elinor also completed the Post-graduate Diploma in UK, US and EU Copyright Law at King's College London in May 2025 and achieved the highest mark in her cohort. Supporting internal business teams with a variety of legal issues, with a particular focus on brand marketing, sponsorship and media work. A particular highlight included supporting the delivery of Wimbledon's first e-Sports tournament on site in 2024, which included a virtual qualifiers event.
I spent six months sat with Unilever’s Home Care division and worked across the: home & hygiene; fabric sensations; fabric solutions; and life essentials categories. My work consisted of: advising on advertising and marketing claims; trademark portfolio management and oppositions; and drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
I spent two weeks at DLA Piper's Stockholm office conducting various drafting, research and proof-reading tasks. My fellow International Scholarship Participant and I also prepared and ran two 'Legal English' workshops for the benefit of the summer interns on placement at the Stockholm office. I also attended a contract negotiation meeting with the client and the other side to negotiate the terms of the Share Purchase Agreement, Transitional Services Agreement and other relevant agreements for a multi-jurisdictional acquisition in the Nordics.
