The thread running through my work is helping people feel seen, heard and understood. Whether that’s influencing decision-makers or celebrating life’s defining moments - I put the spotlight on the people and stories that matter, bringing creativity, care and attention to detail to everything I do. I'm the founder of Elin Edwards Celebrant, an independent bilingual celebrancy practise based in Cardiff. As a Master Celebrant, I'm qualified across weddings, naming ceremonies, funerals and Celtic handfasting. I write and deliver bespoke ceremonies in English, Welsh - or a blend of both. I launched as a wedding celebrant on Santes Dwynwen 2026 (Welsh Patron Saint of Love) on S4C’s Prynhawn Da, BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio Wales. Since then I’ve grown a roster of weddings, launched the funeral practise and a brand - the Queen of Hearts - that I'm enormously proud of. Alongside this, I work as a Communications & Public Affairs Consultant, drawing on 15+ years experience spanning the third sector, the arts and the House of Commons. I've led engagement strategies that have influenced Welsh and UK Government policy, specialised in helping organisations navigate devolution, and built confidence and teams through times of real complexity. My skills span leadership, crisis communications, influencing, and accessible, bilingual storytelling. Whether I'm helping an under-represented community get heard in a policy debate, or helping a family's story be told properly at a funeral, the job is the same: listen closely, then help that story land with warmth. I'm also a proud Trustee for Sight Life and actively exploring further board opportunities where my background adds value. Outside of work, I'm a folk singer with Paid Gofyn, a runner - and an occasional actor. Get in touch if you're planning a wedding, naming or funeral ceremony, need support with strategic communications or public affairs, or are looking for a trustee or board member with a broad, values-led background. If you're a journalist or producer working on a story about modern weddings, bilingual ceremonies, or Welsh celebrancy, I'd love to help too - get in touch.
