About

In my current position as a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca, I work with advanced cell models in the Microphysiological Systems (MPS) team. I joined AstraZeneca in 2022 as a Senior Scientist in the Bioprocessing team within the Cell Therapy department, focusing on the development and delivery of T-cell based therapies for treating autoimmune indications. My background is in pre-clinical cancer research, including practical work within molecular biology and immunology such as cell culture of cancer cells, tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and CAR-T cells as well as work with mouse models of cancer. I also have education within good clinical practice (GCP) and good manufacturing practice (GMP) and the experience of working with TIL expansion in a bioreactor (CliniMACS Prodigy from Miltenyi) in a clean room facility at Sahlgrenska University hospital. I received a PhD in Medicine in 2020 from the University of Gothenburg, translating pre-clinical findings to enable future clinical benefit for patients with melanoma. My thesis is entitled "Novel immunotherapies for metastatic melanoma – from mouse models towards clinical trials". During a post-doc at the University of Gothenburg I continued the work started during my PhD as well as expanded the knowledge from melanoma to other indications, mainly pancreatic cancer.
