My career in corporate training and facilitation evolved when I started working with individuals and groups on personal growth. The awareness that it was the person, the human, whose well-being and growth mattered most prompted me to pursue a lifelong interest and further education and qualifications in the field of mental health. This new direction led me to completing a postgraduate diploma followed by a master's degree in counselling through Massey University in Aotearoa New Zealand. These qualifications include cultural counselling training and couples and family therapy training. I have supplemented my tertiary qualifications with further professional development courses on various topics and interventions, including trauma. This strong academic foundation combines with a wealth of work and life experience (including a bi-cultural long-term relationship; life and work in 8 countries; and raising a family in multiple countries) to inform my therapeutic approach. I practise from a pluralistic perspective, drawing from various counselling and psychotherapy theories and evidence-based models and techniques. I work with individuals, couples, and families on life challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, identity and belonging, relational dynamics, and cultural complexities. I also facilitate anxiety psychoeducation and support groups and personal growth groups. I practise online (globally) and in person if preferred (only in Istanbul).

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process; thus, I practise from an integrative, pluralistic perspective, drawing from various theories and evidence-based models and techniques. I strive to create a safe, supportive, compassionate, and collaborative space where a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and respect for clients' needs and experiences can enable exploration and growth. I practice online (globally) and in person if preferred (only in Istanbul).
