*The views expressed on this platform are PERSONAL and DO NOT represent those of my employer* As experienced healthcare in-house legal counsel, I work closely with the business team as a trusted partner, tailoring legal advice to the specifics of my company. At AdventHealth Carrollwood and AdventHealth North Pinellas, I am responsible for counsel on healthcare legal issues, including medical staff matters, practice acquisitions, corporate matters, pharmacy law, and federal and state law. Prior to AdventHealth: -I was the main operations legal counsel responsible for Florida and Kentucky for a large ObGyn group, Women's Care -served as General Counsel for Alliance PTP, a premier national provider of physical therapy services -served as General Counsel for Dental Partners, a national dental services organization -served as in-house legal counsel for DaVita Medical Group (now owned by Optum) Before moving in house, I was an associate attorney with the healthcare and corporate practice groups at Shumaker, an Am Law 200 firm, where my primary focus was on advising physicians and hospitals on regulatory issues and entity formation and assisting with healthcare-related mergers and acquisitions. I graduated with distinction from University College London in England, and graduated from Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, in St. Petersburg, Florida. During law school years, I interned for two federal judges - Judge Kovachevich and Judge Wilson. I was also a member of Stetson's award-winning Moot Court Board, becoming a finalist at Willem Vis international commercial arbitration competition in Vienna, Austria. At law school graduation, I was the recipient of the Walter Mann award in recognition of having shown the greatest promise of becoming an outstanding leader in the legal profession, as determined by both faculty and student body. As for hobbies, I am an avid Peloton and Tonal athlete (#Law_Mama_Saurus). I am also a passionate advocate for cancer research and walked 60 miles in 3 days to collect over $3,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. My team subsequently completed a competitive 5k and raised over $2,300 for Moffitt Cancer Center, to honor my late mother. Recently, I co-authored Women in Law (available on Amazon), an anthology comprising 23 chapters written by women lawyers, whose stories are aimed to inspire and encourage prospective and current law students. I have two children and love fine-tuning my debate skills with my young daughter. For an extra challenge, I take on my teenager – and sometimes win.

Completed one of the most complex acquisitions in the healthcare space, merging Alliance and Agility Health, LLC: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/alliance-pt-enters-into-definitive-agreement-to-acquire-100-of-agility-healths-us-operations-300594307.html --Tirelessly worked with the business team to integrate the two companies post-acquisition to create ONE provider of choice and leader in the delivery of physical therapy services nationwide --Oversaw compliance and risk mitigation efforts --Standardized company-wide contracting, corporate maintenance, lease tracking, assumed names tracking, and intellectual property tracking --Oversaw all outside counsel
I provided legal counsel with every aspect of DDPG's operations. My daily advising spanned different areas, such as healthcare law, corporate law, labor and employment practices, lease review, insurance law, HIPAA, professional malpractice defense and even occasional litigation. The dental space is different from the medical or any other healthcare space so it was exciting, challenging and interesting to contribute to the company's growth and success.
I offered legal counsel in the areas of corporate and health law to DaVita Medical Group (formerly JSA Healthcare Corporation ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA). DVA is an MSO that provides patient care to over 100,000 Medicare Advantage and Medicaid patients in both owned and affiliated clinics in Florida, Georgia, Texas and Kentucky. Using an integrated care model, DVA focuses on preventative care, appropriate triaging of patients, and the use of trained nurses who follow up with patients after their appointments and monitor their overall health status. DVA employs a true coordinated care model in which promoting the health of each patient leads to higher profits. DVA is the largest provider of primary healthcare services to Medicare population in Central and South Florida. I offered counsel with every aspect of DVA's business, including provider contracting, regulatory and compliance matters, mergers & acquisitions, vendor contracting, risk advising, general corporate and health law.
