Construction Cost Accounting (A DBA of Irvine Bookkeeping) Promoted internally from Irvine Bookkeeping to take on Team Lead role focused on high-value construction clients with more complex workflows. - Managed large construction accounts, each with higher volume and complexity - Manage full-cycle bookkeeping: job costing, AP/AR, subcontractor packages, payroll, and reporting. - Accounts Payable: enter AP invoices, resolve vendor issues, track balances, and provide AP Aging reports. - Accounts Receivable: create progress billings/ AR invoices, track collections, follow up on overdue invoices, and prepare AR Aging reports. - Perform bank/credit card reconciliations, payroll allocation, and month-end/year-end closing. - Prepare financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet) and construction-specific reports (WIP, job costing). - Standardize Chart of Accounts & cost code lists for job cost accuracy. - Lead communication with clients, train team members on construction practices/workflows and review their outputs. KEY PROJECTS - High-volume Construction Client - Cleanup & System Migration: Migrating data between Sage 100C and QuickBooks - Book Setup & Workflow Optimization: Cleaning up prior balances, building COA/item lists, and integrating accounting with project tools. - Reporting & Team Documentation: Creating job cost/WIP reports and internal checklists to support consistent monthly close for the team
- Senior bookkeeper - Provide bookkeeping services: AR/AP, record transactions meeting accounting standards, manage income/expenses, match payroll reports and breakdown loan, resolve issues, etc. - Perform month-end and year-end close - Monthly bank reconciliation - Communicate with clients and do tasks per client's requests - Review and do journal entries or make adjustments - Prepare financial reports (AR/AP Aging, Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, over/under billing report,...) - Do diagnosis for potential/new clients - Experience in catching up book and cleaning up messy books - Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting softwares: Quickbooks (online and desktop), Sage 100 Contractor and other softwares such as Bill.com - Work on multiple types of client: medical, construction, restaurant, rental, marketing, etc. - Update book based on cash basis and accrual basis
