I graduated from Loughborough University in 2024 with a degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology, where I first gained experience in schools through a placement during my degree. Since then, I’ve continued working in education across different school settings, mainly in boarding and teaching assistant roles. I’m currently at Wycombe Abbey as a Resident Tutor, supporting Design Technology and Sport, alongside working in boarding — something I’ve been involved in across all three schools I’ve worked in. I’ve found that I really value the pastoral side of school life and enjoy building relationships with students beyond the classroom. Being part of both the academic and boarding environment has given me a well-rounded understanding of how schools operate day to day, and it’s confirmed that this is the environment I want to build my career in. Before university, I was a competitive runner and coached athletics for young people from beginner to intermediate level. That experience still shapes how I work with students now, particularly in how I communicate and support their progress. Next year, I’ll begin my teacher training (QTS and PGCE) through a SCITT programme. I’m looking forward to developing my teaching further and continuing to learn from the schools and students I work with.
