Independently organised, promoted and led events training students in Lexis+ and commercial awareness, as well as designing and leading Legal Research Competitions. Achieved the highest number of Lexis+ faculty introductions out of my cohort.
Received insight into HSF’s leading disputes practice, including their lead in the legal development of class action claims and International Arbitration. I also participated in an ADR workshop including a collaborative mock mediation.
Selected to attend HSF’s Leeds Open Day in their London Office. Received valuable insight into the firm and worked collaboratively under pressure to complete a corporate negotiation workshop.
Sat with Commercial and Corporate partners to complete a wide range of trainee work within both teams. This included drafting bespoke commercial contracts, heads of terms and amending further commercial documents including an NDA and lease agreement. I also undertook a variety of legal research including preparing an article on indemnities and research notes on elements of the GDPR and company law as well as learning about some of the firm’s most prominent commercial litigation cases. Furthermore I was able to attend a client meeting to take attendance notes while witnessing professional commercial negotiation.
Selected to participate in Freshfields’ Spring Scheme for first and second year university students. Within this two-day scheme I gained a comprehensive understanding about the firm’s practice groups, culture and responsible business strategy through interactive sessions and networking. Furthermore I completed targeted interview practice, alongside a corporate case study and client pitch which my team won, strengthening my communicative and collaborative skill set.
