City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
In this role I was responsible for managing a large multinational consumer products account. This entailed ensuring an OTD of 98% for inbound and outbound customer deliveries. Managing the client relationship to ensure quick resolution of queries and customer satisfaction. The scope covered outbound warehouse management, transportation to customer, inbound container logistics management. Inbound logistics included the end-to-end process from the management of container import, transportation via rail and road, and storage. One year into the contract, I led the successful renegotiation and renewal of this contract. Additionally, I looked after 8 other multinational and local accounts.
As Project Manager, I conducted a full market analysis on a large automotive client to unpack the inventory and logistics optimization opportunities for the inbound and outbound Supply Chains. This involved analysis on whether bulk imports from China to South Africa were preferable to storing bulk stock in China and then distributing it in smaller quantities to the Motus Group globally. Historically there were high levels of stock write-offs due to excessive redundant stock.
When the Imperial Group bought a 70% stake in Sasfin, I worked together with Sasfin to integrate them into the Imperial Group as an independent Business Unit. I was responsible for aligning their corporate identity and branding, in addition, to onboarding them to the Imperial marketing systems. In addition, I assisted them with building internal networks and new sales leads within the Imperial Group. I supported the development of RFQ and RFI proposals, as well as freight forwarding and clearing estimates. In 2017, my role was upgraded from managing a Business Unit to a Division within the Imperial Group. I took on more regional responsibility including South Africa; Southern; East and West Africa. I supported with tender processes and alignments within these regions. My biggest proposal was to Pepsico Nigeria.
