My lecture spoke mostly to Indigenous issues in todays world and how these U of L students could utilize the information in learning and teaching in the classroom. 2020- Role-Indigenous Strategy Engagement Leader. During this 3 month part time position I conducted research, developed and facilitated ‘a blanket exercise’ regarding the history of Indigenous culture in Canada and more specifically Treaty 7 in Southern Alberta. Once the company fulfilled their obligations as it relates to Indigenous Engagement Opportunities my role with this company was completed. September 2021- I was asked to be a guest speaker for a law firm regarding Truth and Reconciliation and the 94 Calls to Action. This session was delivered in person. The objective was to present and discuss Indigenous Issues, Indigenous History, Residential Schools, and more specifically the 60s scoop(I was a survivor of the 60s Scoop). The 60s scoop took place from 1951-1985. We still have issues with First Nation, Métis and Inuit children in Child Welfare today.
