Established and managed LAN/WAN resources, a high-performance Linux computing cluster (196 CPUs) for CAD/CFD/FEM parallel computing, and a large-scale data storage & backup system. Developed and programmed specialized engineering tools for data processing and calculations. Provided IT consultancy on data management and enterprise solutions. * Automation & Control Systems (I&C): Led concept design, project management, and commissioning for process control & automation systems. Delivered customized solutions for industrial automation, including CCPP power plant upgrades (project budgets up to €3.7M). Oversaw installation, troubleshooting, and system optimization to meet customer needs. * Data Acquisition & DWH Systems: Designed and implemented industrial data acquisition (DACQ) and monitoring systems for engineering test rigs and preventive maintenance (5000+ measurement points). Configured and supported Enovia engineering platform for global collaboration. Developed a highly scalable, fail-proof data acquisition architecture with unlimited channel capacity.
* Data Acquisition System Manager (2003 – 2008) Led the Data Acquisition System (DACQ) for two full-scale gas turbine engines (GT26 & GT8C2) with an annual budget of 1.5 MCHF. Managed 3,500+ simultaneous static and dynamic measurements, including pressure, temperature, strain, displacement, gas composition, pyrometry, tip timing, telemetry, and flow. Improved DACQ architecture and Data Warehouse concepts for enhanced efficiency and reliability. Oversaw team coordination, resource management, and process optimization, driving quality improvements. Developed algorithms and tools for error-free outages, streamlining instrumentation planning, configuration, and installation during annual turbine development and hardware updates. * Data Acquisition System Engineer (1999 – 2003) Managed setup, maintenance, and operation of the Data Acquisition System. Maintained and troubleshot instrumentation and measurement equipment to ensure high reliability. Led instrumentation installation and quality assurance for measurement accuracy. Assisted in mechanical integration of sensors, defining rework and selecting optimal instrumentation based on process requirements.
