Operates coal belt system to fill bunkers for plant use. Operates air compressors, cooling water system, oil purification systems, and ash removal system for proper operation of 2 coal fired boilers. Performs plant start-ups and shutdowns. Trained to rack in/out 480v and 4160v breakers. Trained in Lock out/Tag out procedures.
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of two A2W reactor plants and associated auxiliary equipment. Maintained boiler water and chemical levels. Maintained lube oil temperatures and shifted and cleaned strainers. Ensured proper cooling water levels reached reactor plant components. Responsible for replacing and/or repairing faulty valves and gaskets. Fabricated gaskets as required. Adjusted and repacked various pumps. Personally completed over 30 complex maintenance evolutions requiring in depth radiological control requirements. Performed over 25 3M maintenance items, guaranteeing the safe operation of two coolant turbine generators. Hand selected to act as the Operational Reactor Safety Exam Chief Reactor Auxiliary Operator for the 2010 Operational Reactor Safety Examination. Supervised the rehabilitation and maintenance of all out-of-plant spaces for division, noted as the cornerstone in all day-to-day operations. Additionally assigned as the propulsion plant Bilge Program Coordinator. Ensured the proper documentation and repair of over fifty bilge discrepancies. Tracked CSMP jobs and ensured that the discrepancies were fixed properly by outside support activities. Also responsible for ensuring the material condition of all bilge areas.
