Ed is a seasoned project manager and over the past twenty years developed hands-on skills, tactical depth and proven strategic breadth. He brings a a unique and balanced mix of leadership, international experience, design and build expertise, project management, enterprise software, educational environments, data centers, ministries and other high-end technology integration projects. Whilst heading the project of designing and building a state of the art cloud campus, International Horizons College, Ed came across the visionary leadership which was behind developing this unique model in the UAE. Along with the founders of the college, Ed incorporated Convergent Middle East with a vision to create similar technology savoy classrooms breaking barriers and removing the nuts and bolts of a traditional classroom. Prior to Convergent, Ed built a division of one of the UAE’s largest interiors fit out companies. He lead a team of architects, project managers, quantity surveyors and other staff to complete over 40 fit outs. Some of his key clients included IBM, RTKL, General Motors and China Construction Bank. He also designed most of the technology, including structured cabling, CCTV, Access Control, audio visual and the server rooms including MEP. In the past 2 years, as the CEO of Convergent ME, Ed has delivered some remarkable projects such as the Dubai Prime Minister’s Office, Technology Center of Excellence and Auditorium, Signature Building for Al Futtaim for Arab Orient Insurance Building, Twelve floors for Ministry of Economy including training rooms and auditorium Building and many more in the pipeline. Active in memberships such as: Member of the UAE Hamden Initiative to shape government policy on M-Learning (mobile learning). Convergent Information Technology LLC was incorporated in July of 2013. The vision of the founders was to provide smart education and technology solutions to the higher education industry of the Middle East. Todays classroom is a lot different than what it used to be five years ago. More digital learning tools, ERPs, lecture capture, learning management systems are being incorporated to improve the classroom experience for the students. Classrooms are becoming online, paperless, interactive and engaging for students to have more hands on learning. Even though there are tools available from leading companies, there is no service provider in the region who can converge these. Universities over the years have spent millions of dollars on these technologies but are failing to use them. Convergent offers these universities with processes, systems, training to develop their faculty and find easy ways to use these expensive tools. It provides the universities a platform where all of these technologies converge and add value not only to the students but the professional development of faculty. In the past 18 months, Convergent Middle East has been recognized as a budding force in the Educational Technology arena. The company has been showcased in leading technology conferences in the middle east with larger operators. I have recently been asked to head the sales of Al Reyami Technologies ( ART ) a position which leverages my background in design and technology. As service and installation providers of cabling, audio visual, security systems along with ERP, Servers and hardware; we deliver commercial space to data centers in a predictable and familiar manner.
