Edmund was called to the NSW Bar in 2014. Edmund's call came from his enjoyment in analytical problems solving, research, strategic thinking and deploying tactics to achieve the desired outcome quickly and cheaply for large and small matters. Edmund's goal at the Bar is to combine these skills with advocacy. At the Bar, Edmund provides legal advice and acts as an advocate for clients in litigation and mediation. Previously, Edmund worked in-house for the NSW Government and in private practice. At Transport for NSW and the Roads and Maritime Services, Edmund advised on environment and planning law, administrative law, prosecutions and enforcement in relation to the Passenger Transport Act, rail safety, employment, work health and safety, IT/IP, and commercial and corporate. Edmund also reviewed proposed amendments to legislation as it affected the Transport portfolio. In private practice, Edmund specialised in environment and planning law. Edmund instructed Counsel on significant criminal and civil environmental litigation including Environment Protection Authority v Unomedical (2010) 79 NSWLR 236, Greentree v Minister for Environment and Heritage (2005) 223 ALR 679, Holmes v Director General Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources (2005) 139 LGERA 102, and Director-General Department of Land and Water Conservation v Prime Grain Pty Limited [2004] NSWLEC 584. Within environmental law, Edmund advises on natural resources law (including mining law, threatened species, native vegetation, water and soil), climate change, pollution law, contamination law, international environmental law and law of the sea. In addition to planning law, Edmund advises on compulsory acquisition, valuation, native title and property law. Edmund has published a number of articles on environmental law and occasionally lectures undergraduate and postgraduate students on environment and planning laws.
