• Department Head for Corporate Audit Division 4 (which specialises in US GAAP, technology, media & telecommunications companies). Oversight of 110 staff, receiving direct reports from 5 x Senior Managers, and 21 x Managers. Oversight responsibility for billings vs. budget, service delivery, staff utilisation, assignment of resources, development of external marketing opportunities, compliance with professional / regulatory requirements, issue resolution and communication of senior leadership directives. • Oversaw and led the annual audits for a broad spectrum of clients e.g. professional services, telecommunications property, IT, electronics, and infrastructure sectors. • Extensive cross-border working experience with one of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the Middle East; involving travel to the Middle East and overseeing the global audit of its Real Estate & Infrastructure Investment division; co-ordinating with over 24 overseas audit teams. • 19 month secondment to KPMG US (Washington D.C. during 2006 - 2008); working on the US GAAP & ICOFR annual audit and quarterly reporting for an SEC registered telecommunications company. • Specialisation in US GAAP reporting/compliance and US GAAP to IFRS conversion – including accredited technical expertise and delivery of US GAAP training. • Conducted detailed strategic analysis of clients for audit planning purposes and provided strategic insights to clients on cash burn, implications of new accounting standards, and re-structuring considerations. • Responsible for communicating management objectives, deadlines and allocated areas of responsibility to field staff. • Oversaw testing of internal client control systems to identify deficiencies / weaknesses, and evaluate adequacy of internal control procedures. • Delivered technical accounting and professional development training to staff accountants and assistant managers. • Prepared and presented business development proposals to secure new clients and projects.
